Richard J. Giromini is an industrial manufacturing leader with 40+ years of experience in the automotive and commercial transportation industries. He served as Wabash National Corporation’s Chief Executive Officer from January 1, 2007, through June 1, 2018, and as a Director since December 2005. Under his leadership, all while maintaining a consistent focus on safety, operational excellence, continuous improvement, innovation, and strategic growth, Wabash National grew to a $2 billion+ company, achieving all-time records in revenue and profitability.

While planning for retirement and to assure a smooth succession, Mr. Giromini voluntarily stepped down from his position as CEO on June 1, 2018, then serving as Executive Advisor and a Director through his retirement date of June 1, 2019. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Superior Industries International (NYSE: SUP), and previously served as a Director of Robbins & Myers from 2008 – 2013 (formerly traded NYSE: RBN).

Mr. Giromini’s industrial manufacturing career began at General Motors Corporation and continued in a series of successive engineering and senior management positions within the automotive industry at Doehler-Jarvis Corporation, Hayes Wheels International, ITT Automotive and Accuride Corporation.

In addition to his industrial leadership roles, Mr. Giromini has an extensive record of community engagement and support, with past service including: Chairman of the Indiana Manufacturers Association (IMA); Chairman of the Truck Trailer Manufacturers Association (TTMA); Director and executive committee of Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP); Director and executive committee of CICP’s Ascend Indiana; Director and council member of Greater Lafayette Commerce (GLC); Vice Chairman of the Senior Council of Junior Achievement; Vice Chairman for the Wabash Heartland Innovation Network (WHIN) regional initiative; board member of the United Way of Greater Lafayette & Tippecanoe County; Director and executive committee of The Wabash Center.

Mr. Giromini holds a Master of Science in Industrial Management and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University. He is also a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
